Rory Tynan (18) Student in Athlone I.T.
The captain of the team has being a revelation all year at
midfield. Holds an I.F.C. medal won in 2007 and played senior football with
Ballinagore this year.
Noel Claffey (17) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
An excellent keeper who made vital saves during the year. Hoping to win his first medal with the club
in the final.
Niall Kelly (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Current full back on our under 16 team and can play in any
defensive position for the minors. Holder of
Under 14 Div 1 League medal in 2006.
Jordan Cassidy (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Was corner back on this years county U 16 team. A great
reader of the game and a brilliant man marker. Holder of U 14 Div 1 League medal in 2006.
Diarmuid Garvin (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Also a member of this years county U 16 team and although
only 16 mans the full back role for the minors.Holder of U 14 Div 1 League
medal in 2006.
Paul Newman (17) Student in St. Mary’s Mullingar.
Has come on in leaps and bounds since making a return to
football 2 years ago. Paul has played Senior football with St Malachy’s this
year.
Colin O’ Brien (17) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
A tough and tenacious defender whose as brave as they come.
Another player hoping to pick up his first medal.
Aonghus Clarke (15) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Out of action for the final due to a broken collar bone.
This 15 year old dominated the midfield area in our semi final win and is a
massive loss for the final. On county U 15 team this year and holder o f U 14
Div 1 League medal in 2006 and U 14 Div 2 Championship medal in 2007.
Luke Cassidy (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Twin brother of Jordan, Luke was deemed by many to have been
man of the match in the semi final. He holds an U 14 Div 1 League medal in
2006.
Dean McDermott (15) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
A member of this years U 15 county team and equally happy in
either defence or attack. Still bragging about his volleyed goal in the semi
final against Garrycastle. Holds U 14 Div 1 League medal in 2006 and U 14 Div 2
Championship in 2007.
Thomas McDaniels (18) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Played on this years minor county team and caused problems
for many defenders in this years S.F.C. Holds I.F.C. medal won with Balinagore
in 2007.
Brian Sheerin (17) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
A very speedy and courageous player who never lets the team
down. Will probably back himself to be first goal scorer in the final. Holds
I.F.C.medal from 2007.
Darren Ruane (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Darren’s year has been dogged by a persistant knee injury
and such is his dedication that he put off surgery until the season ends. A
member of the county U 16 team this year and holder of U 14 Div 1 League medal
in 2006.
Kevin Gannon (18) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
One of the most dedicated team members who rarely misses a
training session. Can play anywhere in the forward line and is hoping to win
his first medal in the final.
Kevin Healion (18) Student in Maynooth University.
A native of Kildare who joined the club in 2006. Kevin has
played in goals,as a half back and also in the half forward line for the minors
this year and is seeking his first medal with the club.
David Healion (16) Student in St Mary’s Mullingar.
Goalkeeper with our U 16 team and younger brother of Kevin.
David missed the start of the year through injury and will be pushing hard for
a starting place in the final. A member of the U 14 Div 1 League team in 2006.
Eoin Whelan (17) Student in St Mary’s Mullingar.
The fourth member of the Whelan clan to graduate through our
underage ranks. Eoin never misses training and was a member of the St Malachy’s
senior panel this year. Another player seeking his first medal.
Alan Bouabbse (18) Student in Athlone IT.
Although a corner back on St Malachy’s senior team Alan has
adapted very well to a forward role with the minors. Had some immense games
throughout our march to the final and would love to cap off the year with his
first medal.
Glen Gavigan (18) Student in Sligo IT.
A very speedy and skilful forward with a great left foot. A
member of the Loughnavalley Junior panel and another player hoping to leave the
minor ranks with his first medal.
Pauric Kirby (17) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Unfortunately due to an ankle injury Pauric has been out of
action for most of the year. Was on this years St Malachy’s senior football
panel and yet another player hoping to win his first football medal.
Neal Kirby (15) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Another player who has missed the last two months with a bad
finger injury.Was full forward on this years U 15 county team and can always be
relied upon to get a score. Holds U 14 Div 1 League in 2006 and U 14 Div 2
Championship medal in 2007.
Brian Killian (16) Student in Kilbeggan Secondary.
Better known as a defender Brian scored 1-1 to turn the game
in our favour in a tight encounter with Killucan. Captained the victorious U 14
Div 1 League winning team in 2006.
