Congratulations to Sean Fallon who was a member of the Ireland team that won the European Australian Rules Football competition held in Belfast last weekend. After winning five tough games to reach the final where they played Croatia Ireland had to dig deep to win a tense and exciting final. Sean was outstanding for Ireland in all their games, and his clubmates in St. Malachys are delighted for him for bringing great honours to his family and club. Bon Voyage The very best of luck to one of our most outstanding clubmen, Eddie Bouabbse, who set off for Australia last weekend. Eddie has been a trojan worker for St. Malachys as a player, coach, manager and administrator down through the years and even won an All Ireland for the club in the question time competition. No doubt Eddie will be Anthony Tohills right hand man in the Compromise Rules Series this week and will immerse himself in coaching a team out there in the near future. The skills week for all players up to 12 years of age took place in Castletowngeoghegan pitch on the 15th of August and went on for three days with up to fifty kids in attendance each day. Eddie Bouabbse was the main organiser with Ollie Kirby and Mick Fagan supervising the camp. The coaches were Jordy Cassidy, Deirdre Robbins, David Lynch and Emily Kiernan. The Club are organising a Clothes Collection day in conjunction with Castletown Camogie Club on Saturday 12th June. Bags are available from Ciaran Kirby and should be returned to the Park by 1pm on Saturday next. If anyone requires bags to be collected please ring 087 1508389 before 8pm on Thursday 10th June. We had a very enjoyable and sucessful weekend in New Ross where we participated in the Horeswood Seven-a-side competition. Our first game was against Good Counsel College which we won by 5-4 to 5-3. Next up were Adamstown who we defeated by 5-8 to 3-6. Our final game of the group pitted us against Clongeen who we beat 2-6 to 1-6 to top our group and qualify for the knock-out stages of the Cup competition on Sunday. On Saturday night we joined the host club at their Barbeque and music which was held in their very impressive indoor astro turf facilities, which had been opened by GAA President Christy Cooney earlier in the evening. On Sunday a very tired but happy outfit took on Taghmon/Camross in the quarter final. Yet again the team surpassed all expectations and recording a resounding 1-12 to 2-2 victory thus qualifying us for the semi-final. In the semi-final we faced tournament favourites Arles-Kilcruise from Laois. We held our own up to half time until a quesionable sending off left us a man down for the second half which took its toll on tired legs and we lost on a scoreline of 1-10 to 5-5. Despite
the terrible weather conditions over the three days the Camp of Excellence for
12 to 16 year olds held in Pairc Mhic Eochagain was an outstanding success. Over 25 boys took part each
day and under the supervision of coach Eddie Bouabbse everything went to
plan. As well as Eddie, we had coaches of the calibre of Gary Sammon,
Caleb Cairns and Meath star Graham Geraghty take sessions with the boys. The club would like to thank
our own coaches Paul Newman, Mark McDermott and Ciaran Kirby for their help
with the camp. The boys will be receiving their kit over the next few
weeks which is always appreciated by all participants. Check out our

Under
16s in Premier Final on Saturday Next
Saturday in Cusack Park at 3pm sees our Under 16 Ennell Shamrocks side contest
their first Premier final in ten years when they take on Shannon Gaels. This
team plays a fast-flowing stylish brand of football and had good wins over St.
Patricks, Mullingar Shamrocks and St. Finians en route to Saturday's final.
We hope to see as many supporters as possible cheer on the team on
Saturday. Best of luck to the lads and the management team of Ciaran Kirby (St.
Malachys/Ballinagore), Donal Fox (Kilbeggan/St. Josephs) and Eugene

Well-known Meath footballer Graham Geraghty will
conduct a coaching session for our Under 16 and Minor players on Wednesday in
Castletown at 6 pm. Under 12s v Tang Sunday last, May 10th, was the date set
aside by the G.A.A. for clubs to celebrate 125 years of the Association.
An enjoyable day was had by all in Pairc Mhic Eochegain as part of our
celebrations. Well done to all concerned. 10th May, 2009
Circuit Training for the Under 16s and Minors
commences on Tuesday night from 7 - 8 pm in Castletown Hall. Club Jackets, Hoodies, Tracksuits etc are now
